CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Clarksville Parks & Recreation will host its annual BBQ Bash from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9 at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center. The event is presented by Blue Cord Realty and TriStar Beverage of Clarksville with the barbecue competition being coordinated through the support of Hilltop Supermarket.
Spectators are invited to watch teams compete to prepare the best tasting barbecue and win up to $5,000 in total cash prizes. Admission for the public is free, and guests can expect music, local vendors, food trucks, and a kids’ zone sponsored by Little Learners University. Appleton Harley-Davidson will be providing electric bikes for kids and adults to ride, and all participants are invited to guess the weight of the Clarksville Parks & Recreation giant pumpkin.
Throughout the BBQ Contest, competitors will spend the majority of the competition perfecting their barbecue techniques to meet turn-in deadlines and provide samples to judges before time runs out. Food will be available for purchase on-site from local food vendors.
Attendees are invited to visit the People’s Choice tent to sample barbecue for free at 2:00 p.m. from participating teams and vote for their favorite (Limited to the first 100 people). The People’s Choice winner will be announced during the award ceremony at 3:00 p.m.
Parking is available throughout Liberty Park with a hayride serving as guest transportation to and from parking lots to the Wilma Rudolph Event Center from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Handicap parking is available at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center.
Cornhole Tournament
Registration is still available for the cornhole tournament sponsored by Appleton Harley-Davidson. The fee to enter the tournament is $30 per team, with awards going to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams. Teams can register online at ClarksvilleParksRec.com or on-site 30 minutes before game time. The first games begin promptly at 10:30 a.m. and end at 4:30 p.m.
