This week’s #WorkingWednesday features Rebecca Lopez, Event Planning Specialist at Clarksville Parks & Recreation.
Rebecca is one of the latest additions to the Clarksville Parks & Recreation team, coming aboard just 11 weeks ago. She is also new to Clarksville, moving here in July from Miami to be closer to family.
She brings over eight years of experience to her role, previously serving in various event planning capacities at the agency level. On a daily basis, you will find Rebecca brainstorming themes or experiences to take an event to the next level. She obtains vendors and sponsors that align with each event, creates maps, and provides ideas for swag and giveaways. She also develops social media campaigns specific to each event to generate public interest.
“My job is fun,” Rebecca said. “Sure, there’s stress, deadlines, meetings, budgets, everyday normal job things I have to do but I get to be creative. I get to change things up. It’s not always the same thing day in and day out. The best part is creating fun experiences for people to enjoy with their friends and family and watching it come to life.”
Outside of work, you can find Rebecca spending time with her friends and family, especially at parties and during the holidays. She loves going out to eat and is more than willing to wait in line forever for delicious food. She also enjoys going to church, the gym, reading books, watching movies, and enjoying the views that nature hikes provide.
Thank you, Rebecca, for all that you have done in the short time you have been with Clarksville Parks & Recreation. We’re excited to see your career unfold there and the impact that you will make. We are proud to have you as part of our City family!
