This week’s #WorkingWednesday features Alexis Ryan, Gym Assistant and Art Instructor for Clarksville Parks & Recreation at the Kleeman Recreation Center.
Alexis is a dual-threat, having served as an Art Instructor for one year and a Gym Assistant for seven months. As a Gym Assistant, she enjoys educating patrons about upcoming programs and activities that are active within the community and getting them signed up if they are interested. She also helps customers that come to the recreation center with any questions and or concerns.
Over the course of her year as an Art Instructor, she has enjoyed teaching a couple of art programs, including homeschool art where she teaches children small art projects of drawing, painting, and crafting.
“It is rewarding seeing customers who come to an art program, who believe they are not artistic, leave feeling proud and accomplished of their final artwork,” Alexis said. “I love seeing their reactions and the confidence boost.”
When she’s not working at the Kleeman Recreation Center, you can find Alexis working at Courtney's Creative Palette + as an Art Instructor/Assistant Manager. There, she teachs painting to kids, teens, and adults. She enjoys teaching and being artistic every day and spends her free time enjoying anything art-related, whether it be drawing, painting, crafting, or creating graphic design projects for herself or for her clients. She enjoys being outdoors when the weather is nice going hiking, walking on trails, or spending time at parks. Alexis also has a 9-month-old puppy that keeps her busy every day.
Thank you, Alexis, for the impact you make in the lives of the patrons at Kleeman Recreation Center. We appreciate your love for teaching and art, and we are proud to have you as part of our City family!
