[ARCHIVED] Deputy Chief Mike Parr retires

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Family, friends, coworkers, and dignitaries gathered last week to help Deputy Chief Michael Parr celebrate his retirement after 35 years with the Clarksville Police Department. 

Deputy Chief Parr was hired by the department on Feb. 16, 1984. He steadily moved through the ranks, earning promotion to sergeant in 1987, lieutenant in 1995, captain in 2002, and deputy chief in 2008. 

Deputy Chief Parr served in many roles during his tenure with the department, working in patrol, as a detective, and in the special operations unit. He served on the Crisis Negotiator Team and the Crime Scene Team. 

He was a graduate of the Northwestern Police Staff and Command Class  in 2004 and graduated from the FBI National Academy in 2009.

Department leaders and guests offered good-byes and wished Deputy Chief Parr the best of luck as he enters a new chapter of his life.
