Clarksville Gas and Water has closed a section of High Street from King Street to Crossland Avenue to disconnect a section of inactive water main from the water distribution system.
Motorists will be directed to King Street and Crossland Avenue during the work.
Utility construction workers anticipate the work to be finished and the road reopened by approximately 4 p.m.
