[ARCHIVED] Hours change at temporary COVID-19 testing site

RMS3

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -- The Montgomery County Health Department will conduct drive-thru COVID-19 testing from 7 a.m to noon on weekdays July 17-31 at Richview Middle School, 350 Memorial Drive.

The testing moved from Veterans Plaza to Richview Middle School to accommodate early voting at the Montgomery County Election Commission. The hours at the new temporary site have changed because of the high temperatures and a lack of shelter from the sun for county health employees who are administering the tests.

“Without a carport to stand under, the medical professionals -- who are fully masked, gloved and gowned -- are giving the tests while standing in the heat. Adjusting the hours helps us to serve the public over extended periods of time while allowing employees to get out of the hot weather in the afternoons. We appreciate the public’s patience as we make adjustments,” said Montgomery County Health Director Joey Smith.

The entrance for the Richview Middle testing site is off Memorial Drive. The lines at Richview Middle may be long, so it is important to plan accordingly.

COVID-19 testing is expected to resume at Veterans Plaza on Monday, August 3.
